United Nations Development Programme Undp Sierra Leone, Freetown, West Africa

UNDP Sierra Leone, since the end of the civil conflict in 2002 has focused its advocacy and resources on assisting the Government and people of Sierra Leone in addressing the fundamental causes as well as the immediate consequences of the war.

Working closely with the Government, civil society and other UN agencies, UNDP Sierra Leone has shifted its emphasis from short-term stabilization measures to transformative initiatives that address the origins of the conflict within the overarching framework of the Millennium Development Goals.
